Mammootty’s Kottayam Kunjachan will be back soon!

Mammootty has made a declaration about a continuation of his 1990 blockbuster comedy-drama, Kottayam Kunjachan. He shared the poster on his Facebook Page. The blurb highlights Mammootty from the 1990s depicting a standout amongst the most well-known characters, Kunjachan from Kottayam.

The sequel titled Kottayam Kunjachan 2 is being directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who also helmed the blockbuster hit Aadu 2 recently. Its second part announced during the 100th-day festivity of Aadu 2 which held in Kochi recently. Mammootty also present at the event and they along with Vijay Babu revealed the title poster for the movie.

Mammootty‘s son Dulquer Salmaan, who is additionally a prevalent actor himself was excited about this announcement. He also shared the poster on his Facebook page and composed, “Ashaaaneeeeee Joshi Chadhichu! OMG! The most iconic Kottayam Kunjachan is getting a sequel!!!! Woohooooooo

In early 90s, Mammootty‘s hit film altered the course of the megastar’s profession in Mollywood. Kottayam Kunjachan was an action comedy directed by T.S Suresh Babu.

Apart from Mammooty, Ranjini, Innocent, KPAC Lalitha, Sukumaran, Prathapachandran, Babu Antony and K.B. Ganesh Kumar essayed prominent roles in the hit film. The story set in the Kottayam-Syrian Christian backdrop in Kerala, with characters talking local Kottayam tongue.

Days after the declaration of the sequel of Mammootty’s 1990 hit Kottayam Kunjachan, now reports propose that the venture has been dropped. The unexpected declaration came at the Aadu 2 achievement festivities, where Mammootty was the main guest. The Aadu team of producer Vijay Babu and director Midhun Manuel Thomas declared that they all set to begin Kottayam Kunjachan 2.

But the producer and director of the first film apparently questioned the declaration without accepting their assent.
